Memories & Quarantine.

When I had planned this section out, I HAD THE INTENTIONS OF TRAVELING THE DAMN WORLD, but that did not become the case here. These are memorable archives I’ve piled up during quarantine just to give maybe a little foreshadowing? to this venture of traveling. The whole purpose of this blog is to start off with increments & for you to view my growth from here to the future.

Enjoy gem.

Coming back to this café brings back so much nostalgia when a friend of mine & her husband introduced me to this place & we talked for hours. Lux Café is right in the heart of central Phoenix full of a hip atmosphere and young adults/students. If you’re ever in the Phoenix area, I’d highly recommend this place and to even top it off, there’s a bar to possibly dance the night away with the lively music being played. There’s a outdoor seating area that makes you feel so grounded due to its fence being wrapped with plants.

When I tell you this hike was the most therapeutic and detoxifying experience to my energy, I’m not lying! If you’re ever in Arizona for one, go in the early morning or late at night because think about it…you’re in a desert. Camelback Mountain is located between Phoenix, Scottsdale and Paradise Valley and has two types of trails to hike; Echo Canyon which is what I hiked and was more on the steeper side of the trail & becomes more narrow as you hike up whereas Cholla trail is another trail that is a flat ranged trail and longer, but both trails are still a kick in the butt! As I paced myself I’ve became more grounded with my surroundings and appreciated the peace a little more forgetting that it was still hot.

Only Lord knows where I begin with this section. Me being the social butterfly I am, It’s rare to say that I’ve never been out the state… I know you’re judging me so hard right now! Yo girl decided to go on a road trip with a group of friends to no other than Los Angelos, the home of weed, diversity & trashy grounds… yet, I felt very comfortable… in the sense of like hmm this where I thought I belonged at & regret the expectations I had for this place. Please vibe away while I briefly talk about my 48 hours in the city of angels.

This picture still till this day makes my heart full, literally when I went to LA, I felt like a “calling”. People are still being advocates for the black community & that right there, makes my heart so warm.

If I had recalled this place, I would give it a 10/10. It was a Latin fusion restaurant that had established for its well rounded focus on South American dishes & boy was that captivating & such a savory experience I’ll never forget.

Dulan's Soul Food Kitchen is literally heaven sent, if you’re ever out in LA, please go to this place & thank me later; the authenticity was so on board and such an homemade soulful meal that was truly made with love.

First time being at the beach was such an ethereal moment for me & had me teary eyed. I appreciated Mother Nature a little bit more this night, while wondering what else does she have in store for me as I continue this journey! I thank her truly.

At the end, I will come back but for a few more days. It was a surreal & a change of scenery. Thank you LA.

Thank you gems.
